A new study suggested that a viral infection may play a role in chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) and fibromaylgia. The virus is XMRV, which stands for xenotropic murine leukemia virus-related virus. 95% of CFS patients harbored XMRV, and has also been found in fibromyalgia, myalgic encephalitis, and Gulf War syndrome. 10/23/09 Science.
